No More Of This Crap |

As you are probably well aware, our school district is flailing madly about as it reacts over and over to fiscal situations that would give the average business plenty of time to prepare.
I personally don't believe our current leadership are prepared for the challenges that will continue to confront our schools. To that end, I contacted the district to verify the procedure for getting on the ballot this November.
There are six school board members; three of them are coming up for reelection this fall:
District 1 covers Hot Sulphur Springs.
District 2 covers the area from Berthoud Pass to the YMCA (roughly) on the WEST side of highway 40.
District 5 covers the town of Granby.
To be eligible, you must have resided within the district for 12 consecutive months, and must currently reside within the particular sub-district you plan to run for. In addition, you must be a registered voter.
In order to be placed on the ballot, you'll need to get 50 signatures of people within the school district (not necessarily in your specific district). Petitions will be available in the first week of August, and will need to be turned in the last week of August.
Summer is a busy time of year, but don't let that prevent you from thinking seriously about how you could help strengthen the school district with your energy and vitality.
